Re Thread is a second-hand store directory app developed as part of my personal project at Academy Xi. The app can generate and map a journey for those keen on exploring multiple stores in a single day. Featuring advanced filtering for what type of second-hand store they’d like to visit, price range, how far they are willing to travel and how long they want to shop for.
Enthusiastic second-hand shoppers often encounter frustration in their search for the right store. They require an efficient and user-friendly solution to seamlessly discover nearby second-hand shops that align with their preferences and provide accurate information.

Develop a comprehensive directory featuring accurate store listings and categorisation. Enabling users to input their preferences and data, generating personalised journeys that include details such as average browsing times. This allows individuals like Remy to better estimate travel time from store to store and the time needed in each store, so they can plan their days efficiently.
Survey and interview the right people
After the first survey, I noticed I included people who don't shop second-hand, which wouldn't give me the right insights. So, I created a second survey and reached out to those who do shop second-hand.
Don't be afraid to modify interview guides
During the interviews, I identified some questions needing changing or removal. This taught me the importance of ongoing feedback and making adjustments to improve the quality of the insights.
