Cigna Life Insurance, a leading New Zealand insurer with over a century of experience and 450,000 customers, recently completed the sale of its operations to Chubb on July 1, 2022. As part of this transition, I led the rebrand of their Adviser Hub Portal, ensuring alignment with Chubb's brand guidelines.
The Adviser Hub portal is a centralised platform for internal and external advisory staff. This one-stop connection streamlines access to a range of insurance products, enhancing efficiency and facilitating seamless communication.
The project's research encompassed a range of activities, including but not limited to:
Current state audit
This involved assessing various elements for improvement, including adherence to accessibility standards, content and visual hierarchy, UX/UI best practices, and design patterns.
Contextual workshops
Facilitated workshops with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of user tasks, challenges, goals and/or actions.
The workshops revealed that one of the biggest pain points for advisers was finding the right resource, particularly process guides. The main challenges identified were:
Difficulty accessing or finding resources
Complex navigation, with multiple tiles impeding resource discovery
Having to return to the beginning if an incorrect choice is made
Absence of a search function to locate specific documents
In collaboration with an agency, Cigna developed a resource portal to address the above pain-points, enhancing user flexibility in searching and filtering for easier access to needed information.
However, the challenge now is emphasising the new portal while still improving findability of the remaining resources on Adviser Hub. I proposed an accordion view with high-level descriptions for enhanced content acquisition, complemented by a bold feature card to highlight the new portal.
